Lash Rage

Lashes whether they are false or extensions are what everyone is talking about this fall.  When I work with someone new, they soon realize that I am the lash girl.  Eyelashes draw the attention of the camera and of others, into what you are saying and what you are expressing and with new lash growth products such as Latisse ($150 Rx only) and Rapid Lash ($50), everyone can find something that works best for them. Lash growers are wonderful for nourishing lashes, but they take commitment and patience.  Healthy, shiny, full and long lashes are what everyone wants.  False lashes are great for a few nights of drama.  Extensions are great for months of waking up without mascara and being ready to go. Mascara (love CG LashBlast) is awesome and the one item I would need on a deserted island!

Hair Bling

This is really NEW in Hollywood!  Beyoncé made them popular in the spring and now every celebrity is sporting some bling!  These are sparkly fibers that gently get tied into your hair and they last for one or two weeks.  You can wash them, curl them, flat iron them and you can style your hair, while they remain in your hair. bling are easy to remove, as you just loosen them and they slide off of your hair. They definitely will turn heads in your direction, where you go. Everyone needs a little bling in their lives

As we said earlier, the fall colors are red and plum and this is the time of the year where the natural, bronzed summer look kicks up into a deeper and more dramatic look, highlighted by smokey eyes, which are always popular for the fall and leading up to the holidays.  Shimmer, sparkle, black lined inner eyes, winged top liner and purple / eggplant / plums are this year’s look.  Most makeup lines have a fabulous plum palette that you can try for the fall (Chanel’s Enigma is a client favorite).  We suggest starting with a neutral base, brown or gray and slowly layering the brighter or darker shade into the neutral base.  Keep a highlight under the brow and the rest is your creation.  Palettes are great, because they allow you to try colors that you might normally overlook. You also do not have to worry about blending tones.

Red is always a popular color this time of the year and this year red is all the rage. I love red lips and usually recommend a bluer based red for most lips.  Try on the color before you make a purchase and remember to look at your teeth.  If your teeth turn yellow, tone down the red and choose a darker, softer tone such as brick.  When you are sporting bright lips, you may want to go easy on the eyeshadow treatment, as you do not want your eyes and lips to be competing with each other.  Using dark liner and dark lashes with light sparkly shadow, is also a great compliment to red lips.

Flawless Skin

Clean, smooth skin is on everyone’s wish list these days.  A proper skincare regiment accompanied by always washing your face before bedtime is a good start. Your skin rejuvenates itself at night, so make sure that you moisturize and treat before dozing off.  Lighter foundations are the most popular, but make sure you have good coverage.  People want to see skin and high definition television requires much lighter coverage.  If you have a foundation you like, you can mix it with a moisturizer to create your own tinted moisturizer.  The key to good skin is using SPF, all year long!

Detox Before the Holidays

It seems as though everyone in Hollywood is continually on a diet or in detox and especially before the holidays. There are always new fads and trends; one new favorite is alkaline water, which provides a natural detox for your body. Our bodies are comprised mostly of water and scientists say that antibodies, disease, illnesses and toxins cannot survive in an alkaline environment. Certain foods create high acidic levels, so we need to balance the PH level in our bodies to ensure that we live healthy and illness free lives.

For those who are looking for ways to delay aging, one of the best tips is to use Kangen water and I include it in homecare treatments for my clientele. With regular use of Kangen water you will definitely notice a difference. If you find yourself in a pinch and without alkaline water, just add some lemon.

Remember, celebrities look just like you and me, when they are without their makeup.   Red carpet looks do not always translate into real life.  Have fun, try something new for the season and be happy.  The best make-up sits on a naturally unique and beautiful face that has a smile on it!  A smile is the best accessory any time of the year!
